About Us

Jonathan "Nathan" Thomas was born in Gainesville, FL and grew up along the Florida, Georgia line.  He started working in the electrical trade right out of high school at the age of 18.  While attending Georgia Southwestern State University, he continued honing his electrical skills while working under a master electrician.  At the age of 20, he moved to Fort Worth, TX.  There he worked for 13 years as a commercial maintenance electrician.  During that time, he obtained both his journeyman and master electrical licenses by the age of 30.

In 2018, Nathan and his family moved to Bluffton, SC with the dream of owning his own company.  He briefly worked for a local electrical contractor as he settled into the Lowcountry and familiarized himself with the area.  Then, in January of 2019, he started working full-time for Citadel Electric and became both an electrician and small business owner.  

From its inception, the purpose of Citadel Electric has been to provide high quality, trustworthy electrical services to property owners in the Lowcountry.  Nathan uses his many years of experience to make sure his client's electrical needs are completed safely and accurately.  He and his team of trained electricians are passionate about servicing both home and business owners in the Bluffton and Hilton Head area.

On a personal note, Nathan met and married his wife, Bethany, while living in Fort Worth.  They resided in Texas together for 12 years.  Bethany started her teaching career there in 2006.  Upon their move to Bluffton, she has continued working in education.  She currently works at Red Cedar Elementary.

Nathan and Bethany have 3 children: Emma, Ava, and Levi.  All three attend schools in the Beaufort County School District.  The move to Bluffton has been great for the family.  They all love living in the Lowcountry and look forward to many more years of investing this their community.
